2. Operator

The Service is operated by Nicholas Letts trading as Curvit, United Kingdom. For queries about these terms, please use our contact form.

3. Eligibility

To use the Service you must be at least 16 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract in your jurisdiction. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet these requirements. If you are using the Service on behalf of an employer or organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organisation to these terms.

4. Accounts and Authentication

Access to the Service requires a registered account. We support two authentication methods:

  • Google OAuth — sign in with your existing Google account. We receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google.
  • Email and password — register with an email address and a password of your choosing. Your email address must be verified before you can sign in. Your password is stored as a one-way hash; we cannot recover it on your behalf.

You are responsible for:

  • Keeping your sign-in credentials secure and not sharing them with anyone.
  • All activity that occurs under your account.
  • Notifying us promptly via our contact form if you believe your account has been compromised.
  • Providing accurate registration information and keeping it up to date.

Sessions are time-limited. You will be signed out automatically after 30 minutes of inactivity and must re-authenticate to continue.

5. The Service

Curvit provides AI-assisted tools to help you improve your CV and understand how it compares to job specifications. The Service currently offers:

  • CV Advice — structured feedback on the clarity, relevance, and strength of your CV content.
  • Job Match — analysis of how well your CV matches a specific job specification, with gap identification.
  • CV Rewrite — AI-generated rewrites of individual sections or your full CV, tailored to a role.
  • CV Screening — tools for evaluating candidate CVs against a role (primarily for hiring managers and recruiters).

The Service accepts CV documents in PDF, DOCX, and TXT formats. ZIP files containing multiple CVs are accepted for batch screening. Files are subject to size limits enforced at upload time. Files that do not match accepted formats — determined by inspecting the file content, not just the filename — will be rejected.

6. AI Outputs and Their Limitations

All Outputs produced by the Service are AI-generated suggestions. You must read, evaluate, and verify every Output before relying on or using it. Specifically:

  • Outputs are not professional career advice, legal advice, employment advice, or a substitute for any of these.
  • Outputs may contain errors, omissions, hallucinations, or content that is inaccurate, misleading, or inappropriate for your specific circumstances.
  • The AI does not invent experience or qualifications on your behalf. However, it is possible for rewritten content to misrepresent your experience if your source document is ambiguous — review all rewrites carefully.
  • Curvit does not guarantee that using the Service will result in successful job applications, interviews, or employment offers.

We apply automated quality and policy checks to Outputs before they reach you, but these checks do not catch every possible error. You are solely responsible for any decisions you make based on Curvit Outputs.

7. Your Content

You retain full ownership of the Content you upload. By uploading Content you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to process it solely for the purpose of delivering the Service to you. We do not use your Content to train AI models, share it with third parties for their own purposes, or retain it beyond the periods set out in our Privacy Policy.

You represent and warrant that:

  • You own the Content you upload, or have the necessary rights and permissions to share it with us for the purposes described.
  • Your Content does not contain material that infringes a third party's intellectual property rights or breaches applicable law.
  • Where you upload a CV on behalf of a third party (for example, using the screening tool), you have that person's permission to do so.

8. Acceptable Use

You must not use the Service to:

  • Engage in any activity that is unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful.
  • Attempt to circumvent, reverse-engineer, scrape, or otherwise access parts of the Service not intended for direct user access.
  • Upload malicious files, files containing malware, or files designed to exploit vulnerabilities in the Service or its dependencies.
  • Attempt to manipulate AI model outputs through adversarial inputs, prompt injection, or similar techniques.
  • Upload or process documents you do not have the right to share.
  • Use the Service in any way that breaches applicable data protection, privacy, or employment law.
  • Systematically generate or distribute CV content at scale for fraudulent job applications or to deceive employers.
  • Share your account credentials with others or allow multiple people to use a single account.
  • Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to interact with the Service in a way that places unreasonable load on our infrastructure.

We reserve the right to investigate suspected violations and, where appropriate, to suspend or terminate the account responsible, report conduct to law enforcement, and seek appropriate legal remedies.

9. Plans, Payments, and Billing

Plan tiers

The Service is available on three tiers: Free, Plus, and Premium. Each tier has defined feature access and usage allowances measured over a rolling 30-day window. Full details of what each plan includes are published on our pricing page.

Billing

Paid plans (Plus and Premium) are charged monthly in advance. All payments are processed securely by a third-party payment processor. Prices shown on the pricing page are in pounds sterling and exclude VAT where applicable. VAT is calculated and added at checkout based on your location.

Cancellation

You may cancel your paid subscription at any time through your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you will retain access to paid features until that date. We do not issue prorated refunds for unused portions of a billing period, except as described under consumer rights below.

Overdue payments

If a payment fails, we will attempt to retry it and notify you by in-platform notice. Continued failure to pay may result in your account being downgraded to the Free tier until payment is resolved.

Plan changes

You may upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing period. We reserve the right to adjust plan pricing with 30 days' advance notice to registered subscribers.

10. Consumer Rights (UK)

If you are a consumer based in the United Kingdom, you have statutory rights that these terms do not affect or limit.

14-day cooling-off period

Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel a new paid subscription within 14 days of subscribing and receive a full refund — provided that the digital content or service has not been used during that period. If you request that the Service begins immediately (for example, you process a CV during the 14-day period), you acknowledge that you lose the right to cancel without charge for the portion of the service already consumed. To request a refund under this right, please use our contact form within 14 days of your initial purchase.

The Service is provided with reasonable care and skill as required by the Consumer Rights Act 2015. If the Service fails to meet this standard, you may be entitled to a repeat performance or a reduction in price. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits your statutory rights as a UK consumer.

11. Intellectual Property

Your Content: You retain full ownership of the CV documents, job specifications, and other materials you upload. Curvit does not claim any intellectual property rights over your Content.

AI Outputs: Ownership of AI-generated Outputs follows the law applicable to your jurisdiction. Under current UK law, computer-generated works have a form of copyright protection — to the extent any such rights arise in Outputs produced solely by the Service in response to your Content, we assign those rights to you for personal use. You are responsible for ensuring that any Output you use in an application or submission is accurate and represents your own experience truthfully.

Platform and software: Curvit retains all intellectual property rights in the platform, software, AI prompts, design system, infrastructure, and any improvements to the Service. Nothing in these terms grants you a right to copy, reproduce, or create derivative works from any part of the platform.

12. Availability and Service Changes

We aim to maintain high availability but do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at any particular time. We carry out maintenance and updates that may temporarily affect access. Where planned maintenance is expected to cause significant downtime, we will endeavour to notify users in advance via an in-platform notice.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature or the Service as a whole, with reasonable notice where practical. If we discontinue a paid subscription plan, we will provide at least 30 days' notice and a prorated refund for any prepaid period beyond the discontinuation date.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • Curvit is not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or exemplary losses arising from your use of the Service, including loss of earnings, loss of opportunity, damage to professional reputation, or loss of data.
  • Curvit is not liable for decisions made by recruiters or employers based on CVs produced using the Service.
  • Curvit is not liable for errors, inaccuracies, or omissions in AI-generated Outputs that you have not reviewed.

Our total liability for any claim arising from or related to these terms or the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the total amount you paid to Curvit in the 30 days immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) £50. This cap does not apply to claims arising from our fraud, gross negligence, or breach of consumer protection law.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

14. Warranty Disclaimer

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties, whether express, implied, or statutory, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will meet your specific requirements, produce any particular employment outcome, or that AI Outputs will be accurate, complete, or free from error. This section does not affect your statutory rights as a UK consumer.

15. Data Protection

Your personal data is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood the Privacy Policy. You have rights in relation to your personal data, including the right to access, correct, erase, and port it — see the Privacy Policy for full details.

16. Force Majeure

Curvit shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations where that failure or delay results from circumstances beyond its reasonable control. This includes acts of God, natural disasters, pandemic, war, terrorism, civil unrest, acts of government, fire, flood, strikes, failure of third-party upstream providers (including AI model providers), internet or telecommunications infrastructure failure, or power outages. We will use reasonable endeavours to minimise the impact of such events and resume normal service as soon as practicable.

17. Termination

By you: You may close your account at any time through your account settings. Closing your account cancels any active paid subscription at the end of the current billing period and triggers deletion of your personal data in accordance with our retention schedule.

By us: We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service immediately and without notice if you breach these terms, if we are required to do so by law or a court order, or if your account is used in a way that poses a security or legal risk to us or to other users. Where suspension is for a reason other than serious misconduct, we will try to give you reasonable notice and an opportunity to respond. On termination for breach, any outstanding fees remain payable and we are not obliged to provide refunds for prepaid periods.

18. Severability

If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable, or severed if it cannot be so modified. The remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

19. Waiver

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these terms shall not be construed as a waiver of that right or provision. Any waiver must be made in writing and signed by an authorised representative of Curvit.

20. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time to reflect changes to the Service, applicable law, or our business practices. Material changes — those that affect your rights or obligations in a meaningful way — will be communicated to registered users via an in-platform notice at least 14 days before taking effect. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the Service after the effective date of updated terms constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree to the updated terms, you should stop using the Service and close your account before the effective date.

21. Governing Law and Disputes

These terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Subject to any applicable consumer protection law that may give you the right to bring proceedings in your country of habitual residence, the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim.

Before initiating formal legal proceedings, we ask that you use our contact form to give us an opportunity to resolve the issue informally. We will endeavour to respond within 14 days.

22. Contact
